Plain Makhana

1 ½ Tbsp. Nutralite

1 Tbsp. mustard seeds

10 to 20 curry leaves

2 to 3 green chilies

¼ Cup roasted peanuts

¼ Cup roasted Split Bengal gram (channa dal) 30g

1 ½ Tsp. turmeric powder

250 grams Makhana

 

Tangy Mint Makhana

To the plain makhana add:

2 tsp Nutralite pudina & coriander

2 tsp tomato powder

1 tsp mint powder

1 tsp cheese powder

  • Buy makhana which looks fresh and does not have bruises.
  • Makhana should be stored in cool dry place packaged in plastic containers or air tight container.

FOR PREPARING & COOKING

When you roast makhana, make sure it is cooled at room temperature to remove the moisture, before putting to the air tight container.
